When getting your brows done there are always some questions about the treatment. Check out some of our FAQ’s.
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING TAKE?
I put aside 3 hours for each appointment, it won’t necessarily take that long, however I like to allow that time so you don’t feel rushed in deciding on a new brow shape, this isn’t something we want to rush. Most of that time is spent explaining the procedure/aftercare and measuring up perfect brows to suit your facial features.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
Healing time varies for each individual, it usually takes around a week to 10 days. During healing time your new brows will darken then basically lift off like a scab (Do not try and remove it yourself – it needs to come of naturally for best healed results).
Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin pigment can still be darkening at week four. After a month the true colour of your brows will have settled in and you’ll be ready for your touch-up.
WHAT CAN’T I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE DURING HEALING TIME?
You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry (no makeup on the brows – use a face washer to carefully wash around the brows. No saunas, swimming, prolonged sun exposure, tanning, gym (this produces sweat). Sometimes during the healing process the skin starts to itch like a normal scab – no picking your new brows ladies!
SHOULD I PLUCK OR WAX MY BROWS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?
No, it is desirable to have as many natural hairs as possible to achieve a natural look.
HOW LONG WILL COSMETIC TATTOOING LAST?
Generally Feather Touch Brows last 12 months to 24 months depending on a number of factors. Skin types also play a role, Oily skins don’t retain as easily as dry to normal skin types. Lifestyle factors need to be taken into consideration too, if you go out in the sun or excercise regularly they won’t last as long. Some people bleed more than others during the procedure and produce more lymph liquid than others which can also effect results.
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a manual method of Eyebrow Tattooing using a single use sterile hand tool and microblade to deposit pigment into the epidermal layer of the skin. Also known as Feather Touch brows it is the preferred Cosmetic Eyebrow procedure as it produces natural almost undetectable results.
WILL MEDICATIONS EFFECT THE HEALED RESULTS?
Yes they will, if you are taking antidepressants, anxiety or thyroid medications they will effect healed results. In saying that a lot of people do take medications and have results they are happy with. If you are on any medications that thin your blood you will need to contact me before booking I may require a medical certificate.
IS MICROBLADING/FEATHER TOUCH BROWS SUITABLE FOR MEN?
Yes it is, there is an increasing amount of men that are getting this procedure done. Some choose it because of scarring in the brow area or the hair becoming sparse over the years others simply want to enhance their brow shape. It’s really important that you go to a qualified technician that specialises in natural looking results – men in particular you can’t cover a bad job with makeup!
WILL IT HURT?
Most people compare the pain to Eyebrow Threading. Everyone has different levels of pain tolerance. If you are menstruating or stressed at the time you will feel it more than usual. If you have had anything that thins the blood before your appointment not only will it effect your healed results you will feel the procedure more, you’ll have more circulation going to your nerve endings in the brow area.
HOW MUCH DOES EYEBROW FEATHERING COST?
Feather Touch brows can cost anywhere from $550-$1000, if you are getting your brows done in a high end neighbourhood they have high overheads to cover so naturally you will be paying more for your procedures. If someone is charging under $400 please make sure they are using good quality products. Like anything else you have low end products and high end products that can be used in the Cosmetic Tattooing industry.
